and puddling. give yourself extra time there. live in new jersey, 42, northbound traffic is looking okay, 13 minute ride from the ac expressway to the walt whitman bridge. the roads are wet. heavy storm cells stalled overnight leaving low-lying roads looking like like rivers and lakes. katherine scott is live in mantua township, gloucester county where they have wawched wawched -- watched the waters recede. >> reporter: matt, last night's rain was heavy and the water couldn't recede fast enough. the road surface is wet, you wouldn't guess this was flooded a couple of hours ago. now traffic is getting by. rain pounded parts of the area overnight and before long streets in mantua township gloucester county were flooded. at bridgeton pike and berkeley road tow trucks were called in

to haul away cars that were stuck in the high water. police were forced to close bridgeton pike in both directions until the water receded. more flooding over in brooklawn near the brooklawn diner. this car was stuck in high water. even after heavy rains moved out, flooding lingered. back here live, you can see the road is wet, the flooding is gone, though, the torrential downpours have moved out, but we're seeing light rain, light rain coming down right now. it's a good idea to use caution when you head out in the event of lingering flooding because of the all the rain overnight. live in mantua township, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> katherine, thank you for that. 6:04, a philadelphia firefighter was injured fighting a house fire. the massive blaze broke out on the # hundred -- 600 block of west olney avenue.

been a problem for a while. >> reporter: it's a jackknifed tractor-trailer blocking the left lane. we have police and penndot creating a backup on the vine westbound. on the waze app we're looking at speeds at best at 7 miles per hour leading up to this, so a big accident on the vine westbound. it's jammed the length of the vine for the most part from broad street on up, you're traveling in the single digits because of that accident that's right over here on the vine westbound near the schuylkill expressway. everyone chiming in saying major accident with big delays. expect delays on the vine westbound. in gloucester county has been an issue. we got a lot of rainfall last night over 3 inches in gloucester county. we had all kinds of flood waters there. we had an earlier accident in west deptford. problems with flooding 44 and 45 that's getting better. but a new accident 55 northbound at deptford as you head toward

now we're looking live at i-95 southbound the roads in the area just a bit wet, but that southbound traffic is slowing down as you head thwart center city, just the usual morning delay of the 24 minute ride i-95 southbound from the woodhaven to the vine. here's the boulevard, you can see the southbound traffic on the boulevard heading toward the schuylkill expressway, slow, but not horrible, the big problem on the vine street expressway westbound. we had problems with flooding for the most part that has receded matt an tam. as you heard david and karen were telling you about the rain and flooding, let's get you on the firsthand look, katherine scott is live in mantua township, gloucester county. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, the flooding situation has definitely improved. there was a lot of rain overnight and a lot of roads flooded. however, as the hours plugged on, water receded. bridgeton pike was closed in

both directions completely flooded with water. cars are getting through now, around 4:45 they removed the barricades. driving rain wreaked havoc in parts of the area closing roads and leaving drivers stranded. before long roads in brooklawn were flooded. of this car was stuck in high water. even after heavy rain moved out, flooding lingered. tow trucks were called in to haul away the cars that got stuck at berkeley road. police were forced to close bridgeton pike in both directions until the water receded. 4 to 6 inches of rain were reported in parts of gloucester county. so much rain "action news" found someone fishing on bridgeton pike. >> just doing a little fishing. where are you fishing? in the middle of the road. i thought i could catch

two-alarm fire damaged a sheet metal business in chester. more than a dozen firefighters responded to front and renee streets before midnight. crews knocked down flames shooting from the roof of the buildings. no injuries were reported. it is not known how the fire broke out. a man is fighting for his life after he was found shot in front of a church. this happened in wilmington, 4th and lumbard. the victim was shot several times in the chest, he is in the hospital in serious condition. officers don't know who shot this man or why. >> law enforcement is on high alert as the nation marks the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. this week police arrested a 20-year-old florida man who plotted an attack online. he talked to a fbi informanlt about making bombs and.
